"No Matter How Long It Takes, Justice WILL Be Done"

I woke up this morning to the news that Osama Bin Laden is dead.  Ding dong.

I'm going with my first two thoughts on this (and making no apologies for them):  (1) As SWEET as this is, there is no such thing as closure (or real peace).  And (2) A bullet in the head, burial at sea (like some kind of war hero), and "Islamic tradition" was too good for that EVIL piece-of-shit.  But if that's what we have to settle for, I want video footage and pictures of the corpse - to counter the images of people jumping from The Towers - choosing to splatter on the pavement rather than burn alive. "Islamic tradition", Mr. President?  You're KIDDING me, right?

Oh, and for a whole lotta reasons, I'm REALLY DOWN with W's sentiment on thisNo matter how long it takes, justice WILL be done.

Late Morning Addendum/On A Local Note:  A special someone, savoring yesterday's post on another fight for justice, called this morning (laughing uproariously) to remind me that, "The biggest news story in over a decade will not be headlined in the Courier Tribune today - BECAUSE THE COURIER TRIBUNE NO LONGER PRINTS A PAPER ON MONDAY!  What goes around, Mary.  What goes around."

Instead of dumping the corpse at sea, I'd much rather that they brought it here and let us all see what the little bugger looked like. I cannot imagine that he was anywhere near the devil we thought, and would bet he went out with more of a whimper than a bang.

I think it would have been much better if they were to grind his body up and feed it to his followers

The murderous coward hid behind a woman as our Seal team sent him to Hell. And you're right, the White House is seriously miscalculating if they think this is merely a birth certificate. The photos and the DNA comparisons should have been online from the moment the announcement was made. With-holding it smells of fresh grass on the knoll.

Speaking of Obama's announcement, I might sit down later and count the number of the "I's" in Obama's speech to the Nation last night . . . taking credit for an incredible accomplishment that is IN NO WAY totally his own. Indeed, the Washington Post reported this morning that the intelligence that led to the courier who led to Osama came, in part, from Gitmo detainees. Aren't you glad that this President, once in office, didn't keep pandering to the Coneheads of this world - and renigged on the campaign promises?

The "burial at sea" respecting "Islamic traditions" is the big sticking point for everyone I've spoken with today.

I ask you. We "respected" this murderous piece-of-garbage enough not to chop his miserable/stinking body into 3000+ pieces, leave those pieces in a bloody pile at Ground Zero for a week and let every family member of every victim and dead soldier spit on it, and then FRY the rotting mixture with some "unclean" bacon - only then scattering the remains in a part of the ocean as far away from Mecca as we could?

Mike, it is so CREEPY you said that. Last night before I went to bed, I was watching the movie "Titus" online - starring Antony Hopkins and Jessica Lange - and based on one of Shakespeare's worst plays.

What you suggest is EXACTLY what Titus did to the rapist brothers who defiled his daughter, cut off her hands and sliced out her tongue . . . he killed the boys and fed them to their murderous Mother.

Revenge was served up as a warm meat pie.

Titus Andronicus...now that ol' boy did even up the score. I'd forgotten about the...dinner. And it makes me chuckle thinking that I saw the film with Anthony Hopkins in the leading role...."Hello Clarice, I'm having an old friend for dinner...."

Yeah. "Dinner". Andronicus is a really bad play, but it's one of my favorite Shakespearean blood-baths, and that movie was AWESOME!!! . . . much like Sir Ian's Richard III.

With regards to the disposal of Bin Laden's body, perhaps I'll feel less blood-thirsty after sleeping on it. But I kinda doubt it.

Time for a Clarence Darrow quote: "I've never killed a man, but I've many an obituary with a great deal of satisfaction."
