Doesn't keep me from longing to get back on some of the "stories" over there and kick some "right people" butt.
But I don't think I'm going to be paying for the privilege.
That's what this blog is for.
The commentary continues on Ray's column explaining the "newspaper's" move to become a paid site (I have amassed an army of spies who send me stuff - you know, like "M" and her 007's)). A good portion of it is blistering.
But one thing did kind of piss me off this morning.
"Beth Smith", the woman who calls Asheboro "Trashboro" (you know, the butt-licking reader whose calls and e-mails Editor like-minded Ray Criscoe will actually answer), has dropped some comments on that thread which question whether other commenters (under fake monkers) are Buzz Armfield . . . or me.
And the Courier has let her comments stand. I suspect that's because the gutless worms at the Courier want online readers to think that the paper has less critics than it acutally does.
Of course, it could just be because it's Sunday and we all know everyone over there sleeps through the weekend.
Beth Smith is what we in the blogosphere call a troll. And since she's a troll serving the Courier's Pravdaish purposes right now, she's still online commenting.
Whereas both Buzz and I have BEEN BANNED . . . for speaking truth to power. Ray-of-the-bully-pulpit wants the public to think that he and his staff are the poor, totally Innocent victims of cyber-bullies - nevermind that it's a load of horse-hockey.
That's right, Ms. Smith. Buzz and I still cannot get on the Courier's site AT ALL. We cannot swipe back at your swipes taken at the
Because whatever is in that trail is clearly hallucinogenic . . . not all all good for the noggin.
And/so, I can assure "Ms. Smith" that (1) BumFuzzle (love the moniker) is not Buzz, (2) I am not AboroNewsGirl, and (3) we both DO sign our names when we comment.
We also welcome debate and conversation with other folk who sign theirs. After taking a break for the summer - brought on by this and its aftermath - Housecalls accepts comments from those who've registered their monikers/e-mails with Google (fake though they may be) . . . provided you can refrain from employing the kind of cyber-stalking/libelous (no "potential" to it) behaviors that "Home & Heart" Councilman Clark Bell defends and Randolph County's local judges condone.
You see, in Clark's world, it's okay to invade Mary Johnson's Inbox ("home") and ram daggers into her heart because she's "stupid" for fighting back against his corrupt friends. And Sabiston was just asleep-on-the-bench.
I digress. Commenting Housecalls is free . . . registering with Google is also free . . . moreover, you don't have to give me a credit card number or sign away your firstborn child in order to comment . . . if you can play nice, we'll talk . . . and if you have a good tip, I just might use it.
Buzz has given me leave to post his e-mail address: HenryArmfield@gmail.com
Mine, of course, has been on the side bar (on my Blogger profile) for five years.
And please, if you have something to say to us that counters the ugly truths we tell about Asheboro, by all means, BRING IT. Be advised you'd better have your facts straight.
As it says upstairs in the blog's header: It's my opinion folks. If you don't like it, don't call names. CHANGE MY MIND.
Oh, and when it comes to the old hometown - and the people currently running it, good luck with that.

Don't hate 'cause I'm beautiful, love me for who I am......
No folks, I don't hide. For those of you who seldom venture out of Asheboro, my last name is known all over the state thanks to a combination of charitable contributions and questionable behavior on the part of various family members.
