The Stephens Media Group: Bad Daddy

As a follow-up to Housecalls posts . . . on the incomprehensible decision the Courier Tribune has made to slam shut doors it only very recently opened . . . as well as its rather pathetic history of only covering the news the right people of Asheboro wanted covered (the reason I'm here in the blogosphere busting a lot of chops that wouldn't have been busted if someone with a conscience/soul/guts had made Randolph Hospital play fair) . . . here's another take on the shake-up at the top of Stephens Media and its flagship, the Las Vegas Review Journal.

The more I read about the shenanigans of the Courier's big, bad Daddy, the more I understand why decent/responsible fair journalism in Randolph County has long been a lost cause.

The same as covering up a murder inside of Asheboro one night in 2001 to protect the truth! Facts, disclosed by a medical examiner's report, don't lie! But, the police chief of that day, Gary Mason, failed to correct District Attorney, Garland Yates' chief ADA, Andy Gregson, who determined the young Mexican shown on the front page of the Courier Tribune, surrounded by EMS personnel, had acted in self defense. I guess the extent of wounds, seen only as a "butcher job" from the medical report, would've revealed more than the powers bargained for. DA Yates knows first hand what happens when the facts are revealed and what did happen when the family of Daniel Brown were finally made knowledgeable of how Daniel's body was mutilated. This was even made known to a former reporter at the Courier, witnessed by the former RCSO Detective, Gary Davis. Yes, it's time the facts come out and somebody else joins in with Dr. Mary Johnson. I'm coming forth with many reasons to show the public why DA Yates has refused to meet and perform a proper investigation into the perjury allegations, she has made him knowledgeable of. There are still some good people in Asheboro and Randolph that will demand to know why a murderer was released into their town and county, knowing the facts of his death didn't meet "self defense!"

Ah yes, Andy Gregson. I know him well. Useless.

2001 does seem to have been quite the year for crime in Randolph County . . . from white-collar perjury to murder.

And you well KNOW that facts don't mater in Asheboro.

If the facts are as you say, I hope the family/friends of this young man can find justice for him.

We need a new DA. We've needed one for a long while.
