"O Death, Rock Me Asleep"

I'm catching up on my Showtime Tudors, and found this song on You Tube by Katy Rose - based on a poem purportedly written (there's some debate over that) by Anne Boleyn (Henry VIII's second Queen consort, and the Mother of Elizabeth I), during her imprisonment in the Tower of London, before he chopped off her head.  I've been humming it all night.  Thought I'd share.

Bloody good....no pun intended.

This has kept me up late, but there is indeed some speculation over who wrote the poem. The original version I found has it attributed to her brother, who also "lost" his head in the matter.

Shame, beheading would be so wonderful in getting rid of certain political figures....hmmm...where did I put that axe?

I'm sorry. I know you go to bed fairly early.

I am of the Conan class and only have basic cable, so I missed the miniseries when it originally aired. I've bought the DVD of the first season and will likely get the rest. The portrayal of the wives (particularly Katherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn) in this miniseries was outstanding.

But I though they were WAY to generous to Henry here, in that he aged fairly well and did not enlarge as history tells us he did.

He really was quite the fat, sick warped selfish bloody bastard.

OBTW, I am royally amused. A certain "Smith" over at the Courier thinks you and I have been up to no good over there.
