(Journalistic) Ethics, Smethics, JR

I'm an equal-opportunity local journalism critic.  There's just so much material lately.

John Robinson, of the Greensboro News & Record, has a high-&-mighty blog post up on "journalistic ethics" . . . going so far as to post the newpaper's "code of ethics".

As if drawing up a document makes anything so . . . or Randolph County hasn't had its fill of JR's "brand".

(Regular readers of Housecalls might recall that JR likes to BAN too . . . gotta suck up to the advertisers who need their butts covered.)

I posted a comment.  Since I don't know how long it will be up, thought I'd post it here:

I'm sorry, Mr. Robinson. But I'm just not in the right frame-of-mind to be lectured on journalistic "ethics" after the way I've been treated by the two daily "newspapers" that cover my hometown.

You most certainly DID NOT tell the story you could get:

And don't even get me started on the Courier Tribune:

There's a REASON newspapers almost everywhere are dying.

And it has NOTHING to do with giving away your work for free . . . and everything to do with not doing your work.

There's a post I had hoped to get up today that will have to wait until tomorrow.

It's ALL about local journalistic "ethics".  And "accountability".  And "credibility".
