I slept on it, and I'm still scratching my head over Mike Miller, the man who KILLED First National Bank of Asheboro, being named President of Pfeiffer University. I'm also waiting with breathless anticipation for the drooling praise that will be lavished upon this bold-local-example-of-the-worst-of-Wall-Street's-applied-economic-sciences (not to mention steward of small town values) by our local kitty-pan liner (of course, I will only be reading the headline). Perhaps we will even have a statement from North Carolina's Commerce Secretary. That would be so special.
Oh, I'm just so . . . tingly all over . . . waiting for this show.
Meanwhile, don't just take it from me.
A comment left on just-busting-with-journalistic-integrity Ray Criscoe's announcement that the Courier Tribune will become a paid site (I do have my spies):
Okay, now that I've finished laughing hysterically . . .
Buh bye!
OBTW, if anyone else in Asheboro would like to have direct commentary to Pfeiffer on their stellar choice of educators for future generations, here is their media contact:
natasha.suber@pfeiffer.edu
But here's a thought: If you really want to say "Buh-bye!" to Mike (one less "right person" in Asheboro), don't complain too hard.
There's always a silver lining . . . well, except at Community One.
