Healthcare Reform As Passed: "A Host Of Complex Constitutional Issues"

Virginia actually has an Attorney General who is worth-a-damn.

(So does Florida . . . and 20 other states . . . not including North Carolina . . . challenging "Obamacare" in a separate lawsuit.  Any questions about North Carolina's stance?  Please see my previous post on good-ole-boys - it's clear that we Tarheels need not expect change any time soon.)

And having such an Attorney General gives real hope to those of us dismayed about what President Obama & company passed off as healthcare "reform" earlier this year.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that U.S. District Court Judge, Henry E. Hudson, denied an attempt by Obama administration lawyers to dismiss a lawsuit filed by Virgina AG, Ken Cuccinelli, challenging the healthcare over-haul.

Sayeth the judge:

"While this case raises a host of complex constitutional issues, all seem to distill to the single question of whether or not Congress has the power to regulate -- and tax -- a citizen's decision not to participate in interstate commerce," wrote Hudson in his 32-page memorandum.

A host of complex constitutional issues you say?  No DUH!!!

The case will proceed on its merits . . . which in this doctor's opinion, are considerable.
