. . . and seeing right through you.
In an article entitled, "Is Local Inpatient Psychiatric Unit Needed? " the Courier Tribune details how the N.C. Department of Health & Human Services took the back of Sandhills' CEO and basically told Randolph Hospital CEO, Bob Morrison, to SHOVE OFF!
Of course, I was first (and not for the first time;)
I loved the way Leza Wainwright turned the PR tables on Morrison - noting that, despite the need, Randolph Hospital had made no moves to build its own inpatient psych unit:
Part of it comes to what is the role of a community hospital . . .
Here's a clue for you on that, Ms. Wainwright. There's no glamor in an in-patient psych ward (as opposed to glitzy cancer-centers and cardiac wards). And there's certainly no money in it. Ergo, despite the need, it's not for Bob & company.
As for the oversight that has long been lacking at DHHS, wouldn't it be nice if DHHS had done its job and taken the back of a-physician-formerly-in-public-service way back when?
Wouldn't it be nice if they did it now? Perjury has no statute of limitations.
And grandstanding Bob would not be a problem anymore.
