Miss Dixie: Life Was A Cabaret

Slept late this morning after getting today's planned post up. Woke up to learn that Dixie Carter is dead (of endometrial cancer at the age of 70). She was one of the last grand Southern dames (she played the liberal firebrand, Julia Sugarbaker, so well that most people did not know she was a Republican). IMHO, the flags should be at half-mast today in the Capital of every Southern state (and the lights out in Georgia tonight;)

Back in 2007, I blogged about a Designing Women episode that struck a deep personal chord with me. I dedicated the post to my Mother. I link it today for Miss Dixie.

The flag here at Housecalls will remain at half-mast, and there will be no more posts for several weeks. Please take that time to digest the preceeding post. And thanks for reading.
