"The (North Carolina) White Male History Society"

I've got a lot of experience e-mailing North Carolina lawmakers, to get no answer. I might be white. But not rich like an Edwards, not well-named like a Cone, and (by defaut) not a member of the good-old-boys club (or a "dumpling" to oogle), I've always been a second-class citizen and SOL.

It's clear now that Mike Sleazely/the cronies-doing-the-oversight could not be bothered with actual oversight and dumped everything into file 13.

And for that, they will shortly answer.

I am so looking forward to our sorry-excuse for a former Governor being indicted and going to the jail that he/Roy Cooper did not send non-profiteers, Bob Morrison & Steven Eblin.

As for the Republican side of the ethics aisle, with regards to my horrific experience at Randolph, ex-"MistaSpeaka", Harold "I gotta live in this town" Brubaker, my Randolph County rep, has been useless. And if/when that uber-sorry-piece-of-work ever starts posturing about Republicans of his go-along-to-get-along ilk being the alternative to Raleigh's long-time/on-going/deep-blue tinted culture of corruption (like say, our Sam), this blog is going to be all over him like white-on-rice (just like it was on Sam).

In light of my experience with North Carolina's GOB set, I wasn't very surprised by the "reply all" response NC Rep Bill Current fired off to an invitation to a banquet hosted by the N.C. Council for Woman. He says it was a mistake and a joke. I'm thinking not-so-much.

Thanks for your kind invitation. However, I must regret for I have promised to be at the organizational meeting of the 'White male' history society.

Sincerely,

WAC

When the fur started flying, this is what Current said:

I was just trying to be funny, if you really want to know the truth," said Current, 76, a Gastonia Republican. "I'm a little weary about all the division in this country about race and gender. I'm tired of hearing it, and I'm tired of seeing it. We need to be working together as Americans.

Well, Mr. Current, some of us North Carolinians/Americans who are not white males and have, in fact, have a history of being treated like CRAP by white males (largely because of our gender or race) are weary of the divisions too.

Perhaps we'd work better together as Americans if the white males would get their heads out of that anatomical area where the sun doesn't shine and treat the rest of us like we were . . . well . . . white-like-them.

Just a thought, funny man.
