Whistle-Blowing Texas Nurse: NOT GUILTY

The Texas Nurses Association just twittered it. And NewsWest9 has confirmed it.

Anne Mitchell, a nurse prosecuted by a bunch of small-town good-ole-boys . . . for reporting a bad doctor and his woo, was found not guilty by jury of her peers.

Justice doesn't always take 12 years. Now, I hope Mitchell turns around sues the crap out of these jerk-offs (not watching my language - that's what they are) for malicious prosecution.

Just like I hope Debbie Crane sues the crap out of the state of North Carolina.

Just like I intend to shortly hold the N.C. Medical Board and JCAHO and DHHS accountable for not holding Bob Morrison and Steven Eblin accountable for their lying and cheating and stealing.

Hey JR, hey Mr. Cone-of-the-Cones: Do YA THINK my story is relevant now?

Update: Orac weighs in.

So does the New York Times.

At the moment, Kevin Pho ("social media's leading physician voice"), is busy posting more propaganda for AMA President James Rohack, but I'm sure he'll get around to it now that he knows what side of the fence to fall on.

Update: Overlawyered weighs in. We'll see if my comment (below) gets posted:

Orac isn’t the only physician blogging about this. As much as I appreciate his position, he’s late to the party by at least a decade.

Nevertheless, it’s good news for those of us who are genuine medical whistle-blowers (as opposed to the frauds and “woos”).

There’s a lot to reform. Of course, none of what really needs to be reformed is being addressed by current reform legislation.

2/12 Update: As I expected, Overlawyered deleted the comment. I guess Walter did not apprecitate my insolence.

Orac's post on the crank & quacks coming out of the woodwork screaming for the nurses' heads has seeded another post in my nogin. Working on it right now.

There is a good reason I dumped the Semmelweis Society and never joined AAPS.
