She's baaack.
I wasn't exactly "on break". I was commenting elsewhere.
Both Overlawyered and The Respectfully-Insolent Orac (where I got a bit of a "coning" before . . . not because of my position on the case but because I've got no use for President Obama's notions of healthcare reform) posted updates on the case of the Whistle-blowing Texas Nurses.
Kevin Pho seems to be keeping his head down so far. But he's a lot like our Ed Cone. He won't have an opinion of his own until he knows the outcome.
Alas, everytime (three times) I posted a comment at Overlawyered, it was deleted (or edited to a snippet). I guess the lawyers are afraid of the lawyers.
Walter Olson pulled a John Robinson when I complained. Not appreciating my insolence, he told me that it's a big Internet, and if Overlawyered doesn't meet my needs, I am free to post somewhere else.
Thank you, Walter. I've already been educated as to that fact.
The irony there is that Overlawyered exists to whine about the over-abundance of lawsuits in our sue-happy nation. I've spent twelve years trying to get Walter's precious system to do what it says it will do. And I am now planning legal action against the state (later in the year) because our legal system just does not work.
Maybe that will earn my story a feature on Overlawyered. Until then, I'm thinking about deleting the link from my sidebar.
You see, I'm done auditioning, and I'm done being talked to and treated like crap by people who sit on fences and talk out of both sides of their mouth.
Our political differences aside, the Uber-Insolent Orac, on the other hand, gets it. The case (I use the term loosely) in Texas is absurd . . . even more absurd than a "dime a dozen" Pediatrician in public in service in Asheboro being fired for saving a life, and sued for telling the truth and swindled by perjury, contempt and fraud when she dragged the over-rated, over-paid, well-connected mill-town morons who did these things to Court.
Of course, when it comes to getting any substantive help enforcing government agreements (not to mention, the law), she gets SQUAT from her North Carolina Congressmen and Senators . . . in stark contrast to frauds & opportunists with ZERO whistle-blowing credentials from Pennsylvania.
Of course now a good many of the politicos the doctor plead her case to are fighting over sex tapes, this-close to federal indictment or already in jail.
It's just great to live in North Carolina. Just ask Debbie Crane. The Good-Ole-Blue-Boys called her some ugly names too.
Meanwhile, the Texas Nurses Association is Twittering Courtroom updates on the case.
