Cyber-Stalked: When A Fecund Stench Invades Your Home

(*11/19 Author's Note: A couple of my friends are not all that used to blogging. They are used to reading what I post every day or so . . . and have complained that they know I'm posting updates to this situation, but they cannot find them. Updates are posted at the bottom of this post. I apologize for any confusion.)

Today feels like that Kris Kristofferson song. Not that this hangover is about anything I've had to drink.

It's from blogging . . . "citizen journalism" . . . an activity I turned to four years ago to get some help . . . because I had been the victim of a series of un-investigated/un-prosecuted white-collar crimes.

[Pssssssst Fec, the North Carolina Medical Board already knows I'm here . . . so does every local, state and Federal law enforcement agency from Asheboro to Washington . . . and, in this era of healthcare "reform-that-isn't", the VERY LAST thing ANY of them want is public attention cast on this case.]

"Victim." I despise using that word to describe what I am. It isn't what I am.

As many folks by now know, I was the victim of a cyber-stalking incident on Friday night - courtesy of Jeff Martin, aka "Fecund Stench" of Vie de Malchance. I blogged his abuse as it happened . . . here on Housecalls (in the comments on the post linked below) and at Joe Guarino's.

Real time . . . not that I could really keep up with it.

I very much appreciate the calls and comments of everyone who has since had advice to give. I am taking that advice on Monday morning (like the Greensboro police department doesn't have enough to do).

"Mr. Stench" was upset because I had dared to "post-back" on a malicious/warped piece he put up on Mike Baron of "Dam Scam" (I refuse to link Fec's post again - or even go back to his blog - which has now been deleted from my sidebar links).

I was sick & fricking tired of coming home after bad or busy days at work (four hours from my real home no less - for all of the reasons given on this blog) . . . doing what I do (which sometimes really is saving children's lives) . . . and reading that I/others were "booger-eaters" and "morons" and "whack-jobs" and "crazy" and "evil" and "lunatics", etc.

I hear I'm now a "banshee" too.

Well, you had better give me a broom and a megaphone, because I am not going to stand silently by and watch a LOATHSOME attack (Joe's most excellent description) on a very good man battling terminal cancer (multiple myeloma) who is telling the truth . . . a truth that does matter to many of our Greensboro bloggers as long as they have their "potable water" long after Mike Baron is gone.

And Mr. Martin, if taking Mike's back (knowing only a small portion of his pain because I do not have terminal cancer) makes me a "borderline personality", well then, by God, that's what I'll be.

On this blog, I moderate comments, but for the most part I let people say what they think. And people did. A lot of people are weary of "Fec The Terrible's" act.

In addition to what he was doing on the blogs, Fecund Stench (and he IS) played his head games and hurled invective (a word his idol, Edward Cone, likes to use) into my Inbox for well over an hour. He started with a not-so-veiled threat (i.e. typing my home address in an e-mail subject header with a cryptic question in the body of the mail), and when that did not elicit whatever response he was looking for, he really started going for the jugular - by threatening to report me to the North Carolina Medical Board (because, you see, I'm "mentally ill").

Of course, in the course of my blogging, I've already been there and done that.

When these things did not work, Mr. Martin began listing all of the things he had done for me in the blogosphere. I was supposed to understand and forgive him because his modus operandi is to "attack and apologize". He's "well-known for it".

In the course of approximately one hour, I got 27 e-mails.

It wasn't the "you broke Ed Cone's heart" line that burned my butt most of all (one has to wonder where Mr. Cone was when all of this was going down), it was this gem:

"I can count the times I've been to your blog on one hand."

And that, ladies and gents, is when your hands stop trembling and your heart stops racing and you stop being scared and you just get really angry (all over again) and you CONSIDER THE SOURCE.

If this man . . . or any of the Greensboro bloggers he worships and was obviously trying to please . . . was EVER my "friend", I do NOT need enemies.

I have enough of those.

;) and nod (that was for you, Roch). That is, of course, the trademark of the progressive Greensboro blogging elite . . . the well-connected and the well-named who crane their necks looking away from train wrecked-lives like mine and Mike's.

OBTW, I am well aware this keeps me on Fec's "radar" . . . the one I'm supposed to now duck and run from.

As the blips go, I'm one of the big girls.

Sunday Afternoon Update (with after-thoughts added):

Surfing "We101/Greensboro" just now (it appears I'm back on there) I saw the heading for this post at Vie de Malchance (which appears to have gone up sometime last night), and took the bait and looked.

I agree with Mr. Martin. The post was "unwise". And the e-mail copy I made of it (in the event his sainted wife can talk some sense into him and it gets deleted) will be included with 27 other e-mails his alter-ego sent me Friday night . . . in in the complaint I swear out with the Greensboro police tomorrow morning.

As for it being so "easy" to Google my address (in "Fec's" pee-brain, this apparently justifies his actions), and "stupid" for me to allow it, as a physician licensed in North Carolina (a physician that Mr. Martin seems so determined to libel), I am required by law to list my home address with the North Carolina Medical Board.

My home address is my corporate (public) address.

And the Medical Board, in its infinite wisdom, offers no leeway for privacy to those of us who are incorporated as individuals and make our livings (again, something Mr. Martin seems determined to endanger as he endeavors to be "helpful") as independent contractors.

It's just another one of those things that no one in Raleigh thought of when they decided to be so "transparent" to the public . . . especially those members of the public that might be off their medication . . . one of those things that might need to be reformed.

I am informed that home addresses are also listed with the local tax department and are public record.

Mr. Stench, who has now reverted back to his "I'm just a normal guy" act (the one he always resumes once he's knows he's gone too far), is very "concerned" about the family of the unconvicted felons I pummel for their crimes on this blog . . .

. . . the unconvicted felons and their families who have moved right on along with their happy little lives, unencumbered by ANY consequences for their actions.

And/so, I'm not moved.

I have family too - who have suffered for YEARS with me because of what those unconvicted felons did. On Saturday morning, I had to tell my Mother what was going on (after she got back from an Aunt's funeral that I could not attend because I am on-call).

My house-sitter (one of the YaYas/my best friends) . . . who was actually in the house whose address Mr. Stench Googled when this was all going down . . . called to see if she needed to take protective measures and/or leave.

In his post, Mr. Stench is also feigning "concern" about my state of "anxiety". Funny, how he waited a whole day to "get the word" to me that he had not sent anything to the Medical Board.

And OBTW, this one ain't about anyone's politics. Be he a Democrat, or Republican, or Independent, or Mean-spirited-Moronic-Under-medicated-Booger-eater, this was just WRONG.

Filing the criminal complaint won't give me any "peace".

But let's just say I don't negotiate with terrorists, Mr. Martin.

Keep your post up. Take it down. Whatever. It's just more evidence.

Late Sunday Evening Update:

Predictably, when the "To Mary Johnson" post did not extort the desired end (again, I'm not as emotionally fragile as he imagined), Mr. Martin posted another entitled "Sit and Spin" (it doesn't get a link), which totally dropped the "normal guy" facade and revealed his true colors.

I've copied and e-mailed the posts to myself . . . to add to the file (29 and counting) . . . to give to the police tomorrow morning.

You-all have a good night.

Monday Afternoon Update:

It took a while to sort out the jurisdiction (it's the home address of the person on the receiving end of the e-mails), but the initial complaint has been filed with the Randolph County Sherrif's Department.

As this plays out, there may be something filed with the GPD as well.

The "character" of Mr. Stench continues to post vitriol over on his blog. He's going to dissect my psyche for your entertainment (if I am interpreting the data on StatCounter correctly, he's spent hours on my blog all weekend doing "research") and I'm supposed to quake in fear . . . I will retreat if he pushes the right button. Mr. Martin really needs to read the statute. It's not about what's on the blogs (although with every new post he puts up since sending his e-mails, he's digging the hole deeper).

It's about what he did Friday night.

And what Jeff Martin did Friday night crossed a line that sane people in this society do not cross. It was a crime. There is no excuse he can make, or rationalization he can employ to justify the act.

If it had been done to you, or your Mother, or your Sister, or your Daughter, or your Wife, it would not be "funny" at all.

And anyone who supports that - or thinks it is funny - is as sick and warped as he is.

But hey, pass the popcorn!

As of this morning, there have been other developments relevant to my case. I'm not going to blog about them.

Monday Evening Update:

In the "it-don't-get-richer-than-this" department, I just got an e-mail from the N&R . . . for a "possible interview". I'll go on-the-record here with part of my off-the-record response:

Let me get this straight.

I've been in the blogosphere for four years . . . blogging about being professionally raped/robbed and left for dead by a local non-profit hospital . . . multiple ethics violations and (as yet unprosecuted) felonies . . . pleading for an investigative journalist to take a look . . . and you want to interview me about Jeff Martin?

Oh manoman, it's been a long, interesting day.

Wednesday Afternoon Update:

In the course of doing my job, I was up a good portion of last night (I'm sure the parents of those sick newborns would very much appreciate what their Pediatrician was having to deal with on the side), and my day is far from done, so we will keep this short and sweet.

Blogging is blogging and we all take our lumps. Mr. Martin, for all of his obfuscating and back-tracking and pathetic excuses, crossed every line (not just with me) and it is not going to stand.

You can like me or you can hate me, but what he did was wrong. It is against the law.

And I've got news for the Fecund Stench. I've been on the Randolph County Sheriff Department's "radar" for a very long time. Just like the Asheboro Police Department (as I was tossed from jurisdiction to jurisdiction), the RCSD poo-pooed my criminal allegations against Robert Morrison and Steve Eblin . . . did not conduct ANY KIND of investigation itself . . . and instead of referring the case out to the N.C. Attorney General's office (where it should have gone in 2003), deferred completely to the stone-walling and habitual intemperance of the Randolph County District Attorney's office.

It's not quite "eternal", but there you are.

THERE WILL BE NO "DEALS".

Thursday Morning Update

There's a break in the baby action this morning, so I thought I'd update everyone on what's been going on from my end.

Concerned/outraged friends in Asheboro continue to send me e-mail copies of Mr. Martin's posts. And I continued to forward the posts, which are an escalation of his e-mail assault, to the Randolph County Sheriff's Department.

I'd like to thank everyone for their calls and e-mails. I'm o-kay. I'm hanging in.

Jeff can say, "I don't know what she's talking about" all he likes, but Tuesday night (I think it was Tuesday night), I was offered a "deal" by the RCSD officer "investigating the case" (who did not seem to understand the difference between blog commentary and communicating threats). The deal was silence for silence. I refused. For that caves to the psychological terror tactics . . . and the on-going online rape of my reputation (such as it is after the professional rape dished out in Asheboro).

Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent.

And if a Randolph County magistrate is too dense to get past the not-so-deft snow-job and figure out the difference between blogging and the cyber-terrorism Fec has been dishing out, well, we do have a problem with law enforcement in Asheboro.

Of course, we who live here have known that for a long time.

The GPD is also involved at this point . . . because of threatening e-mails Mr. Martin sent to someone else. They seem to be taking it more seriously.

The SBI was notified last night.

With regards to "the real story" (which Mr. Martin claims to know all about - and to have shared with Ed Cone - implying that I am "not well"), this week there have been what has been billed to me as positive developments with that as well. There will be no further comment until I see how that pans out.

And/so things are far from "dead".

Mr. Martin has spent days on Vie de Malchance trying to justify his actions (nevermind that he's admitted what he did - and that he was wrong to do it). He's continued to lob invective and innuendo trying to get me to "crack" . . . to give up . . . to walk away with my tail tucked.

I was "mean" to our poor, perpetually petulant Fec on his blog. I allowed others to be mean here on Housecalls.

Nevermind the the horrible, awful, cruel things he's said to-and-about me/others over the years. He's the "real" victim.

But here's the thing about that. Bloggers blog. We put up our stuff and we invite commentary. We fight and we spew. We can moderate comments, we can block comments, we can hide comments, and we can delete comments. For all his "pings" now, Mr. Martin played that game until someone stood up last week and flat out told him he was wrong . . . way beyond out-of-line. Fec verbally eviscerated a man with terminal cancer (Mike Baron) who came to our little "community"-in-the-ether because he wanted to tell his side of a story that's gotten short shrift.

Of course, that's my fault too. I should've told Mike it was a waste of time. You can't make his story 100 words-or-less . . . and/or something that a first-grader-suffering-from ADD could understand.

Our Fec could not be bothered with the specifics or the facts. No. Instead, our hero told a man with terminal cancer that he was "criminally insane" (Lex Alexander also chimed in) . . . and to move on along with his life and get over it . . .

. . . just as he did with this "whack-job" on so many occasions . . . without apparently even reading this blog.

Meanwhile, those of us who dared defend Mike were "booger-eating morons" and "lunatics".

Friday night, Jeff Martin/his alter, "Fec" crossed a line. As a very wise nurse put it to me this morning . . . he escalated from wanting to shake the baby into silence, to actually doing it.

Most of the rules we play by in the Greensboro blogosphere are rules Jeff Martin and Edward Cone (whose name he keeps invoking) helped make. In the past, the GSO blogosphere has railed in righteous indignation for far lesser offenses against the livelihoods and reputations of bloggers. But not now.

There's been a whole lot of radio silence from the progressive and enlightened this week.

Readers here on Housecalls have commented on Fec's mental status, but I have done my level best to refrain from adding my two cents. I don't have a clinical relationship with him. I've met him once (while shopping in his wife's old store). And I think that what he's done - both now and in the past - speaks for itself.

As Mr. Martin well knows, I've not returned fire in kind. I've made no threats against him or his wife (someone I've made a point of repeatedly praising on this blog) or their livelihoods - although there are several "fat girls" from Randolph County who will not be setting foot in Jodi's store ever again.

But what Jeff Martin has been doing since Friday is illegal and this time he is not going to be getting a free pass.

Of course the story in the News & Record is dead. I would not participate in Mr. Martin's "fun" by giving an interview. Indeed, I pretty much put them on notice that I was not Jack Perdue.

This is NOT about a "blog war" . . . or two "crazy people" going at it online. It's a relatively simple story about a vicious blogger-on-blogger cyber-assault that's been going on for almost a week.

Ergo, OF COURSE, the Greensboro N&R cannot handle it.

This IS serious, folks. But not in the way Jeff Martin would like you to think.

Very Late Thursday Evening Update

This afternoon, I was notified of new developments that should be published in Randolph County's "law log" shortly. I just got home tonight, and have had time to peruse what friends sent me earlier in the day.

And once the case is really underway, perhaps the cyber-cops will be able to determine who "In The Line of Fire" is. This person seems to be holding a serious grudge over my stance in Asheboro's alcohol referendum (can't imagine who that might be;). But that's old news. I pissed-off a lot of "right people" by taking the online backs of the "anti" forces.

No apologies. No regrets.

The really interesting/curious/problematic thing for Garland, King & Andy now is that, in his (or is it a her?) comments at Fec's, "In The Line of Fire" implies that Mr. Martin will have his legal back covered by droves of adoring insiders in Randolph County law enforcement and Asheboro's legal system . . . the system that's already done me dirty more than once.

Perhaps it IS time to call in the SBI. Smells like Lincolnton to me.

As for "the real story", that all came out in the discovery portion of two lawsuits . . . lawsuits that Randolph Hospital ultimately ran from . . . and lied repeatedly during . . . in order to get out-from-under-on-the-cheap.

But hey, our Fec never lets the facts get in his way.

Every nasty post Jeff Martin has put up/directed my way since this attack began on Friday night are simply an extension of his e-mails . . . and an attempt to extort my silence. Ergo, they're actually evidence . . . while previous blog posts and commentary are . . . well . . . bloggers being bloggers.

"In The Line of Fire", an obvious blogging "newbie" suffering from delusions of anonymity, should be fairly easy for local-law-enforcement-determined-to-prove-its-ability-to-be-fair-and-impartial to "ping".

P.S. Wanted to add an addendum before I go to bed. In the wake of the increased traffic spurred by recent events, I decided to move the profile up on my sidebar (it's that somewhere-around-100 word summary-of-my-case prepared just for Ed Cone), and move some things down/around. I also deleted some dead links and removed several old Housecalls posts in order to cut down on clutter. If you can't find something, you're free to search. Nothing has been deleted, and if it really trips your trigger, you can learn all about my experience as one of John Rohinson's recruits to the oh-so-progressive Greensboro blogosphere.

Why don't you seek a restraining order against fecal stench to never email you, post on his blog about you, mention your name online, or have any contact with you whatsoever. Concerning mental illness, I think it would be fairly easy to prove he has some kind of obsessive disorder regarding you.

Dr. Mary Johnson said...

From one of Fec's e-mails:

"I chose you because you are broken. Pity is always wasted."

Re: the "obsessive disorder", ya think?

I'm not so broken as he thinks I am.

His mistake.

Anon, you beat me to the suggestion.
With an individual as unbalanced as FEC has portrayed himself I would consider it imperative to take such action. I would also include that he is not to be within so many yards of my home.
There is no way to predict what an individual with BPD or the personality disorders, which FEC admits to having, will do.

I definitely concur with Anon's suggestion my dear friend. You can take absolutely no risk with this individual.

Dr. Mary Johnson said...

I continue to be grateful for the advice and messages of support.

Those who have offered opinions as to what to do next say that while they would really wrestle with pressing charges, to let Mr. Martin off the hook (yet again) for behavior that clearly crosses every line would be to "empower him".

I submit that Jeff is not so much empowered by getting off the hook as he is enabled by the sympathy and fundamental decency of those who let him off the hook . . . people he has been quite adept at manipulating in the past.

None of this is remotely funny. It's not "cool". And there is NO rational excuse.

Putting the "To Mary Johnson" post up yesterday . . . trying to justify his actions with supposed "concern" for my mental health while continuing the LIBEL did not help his cause.

He was trying to extort a "peace". That he is playing upon (1) the extreme measures I've been forced to take with this blog (in large part because the JR's and Edward Cones of the blogosphere in no way lived up to their hype), and (2) the very sore spots of my long-ago history of depression (not to mention a family history of suicide) makes what he is doing now all the more despicable.

Unlike Robbie Perkins, I am not a public figure. Joe Guarino is not a public figure. Mike Baron is not a public figure.

Joe and I are practicing physicians whose livelihoods depend on our reputations (and mine has taken enough of a beating in my eleven-year fight for justice).

Moreover, Mr. Martin/his alter ego directly threatened my livelihood with a bad-faith complaint (and he well knows it would be bad faith) to my licensing agency.

When you think about it, "Fecal Stench's" (that made me laugh) threats - based on the notion that I am some how unhinged because I cannot just close my eyes and forgive and forget the amoral, unethical and illegal things Randolph Hospital did to me (all in the name of covering up a Cone-owned doctor's mess) . . . only reinforce my claims against the North Carolina Medical Board and other state/Federal regulatory & law-enforcement agencies for negligence.

For these agencies have not had time for the truth . . . or to take steps to make things right . . . and have totally let me swing . . .

. . . making it all the more easy for a psych-patient-who-fancies-himself-an-armchair-psychiatrist to publicly berate me as a "whack-job", "lunatic", and "crazy person".

Whether or not Fec followed through with his threat to contact the Board is irrelevant - it was designed to terrorize.

And, for a little while, it worked.

Ergo, he is NOT harmless.

Ergo, I cannot let it stand.

This is funny. I was gone this weekend and my cousin who knows where the key is hid came to town to use the wireless.

He found your posts and followed them back to Fec's, wrote a reply and found that the IP here has been banned.

Fec has another screed posted about a woman in Asheboro. I guess it's about you but he's too much of a coward to call you by name.

It's pathetic to see a diminished and tormented character continue a disjointed, raging rant. But, it's along the lines of "giving him enough rope".

mlewis2u said...

this semblence of a "man" needs to get his reckoning. Dr. Mary, you have more integrity and honor in your little pinkie than this "Fec"es does in his whole body. If he wants to have a character debate with you, he needs to build one first. I think Ed Cone might be able to find room under his desk.

Dr. Mary Johnson said...

Thanks, ML.

Hugh, didn't you hear? Fec is moderating now. It makes it easier for him to dish without taking return fire.

We101 has been useful (for a change) this weekend.

Of course, the post is about me.

Jeff has to "wonder" what the poor fools in Asheboro did.

Of course, he has to wonder - because he hasn't read this blog.

Kind of like he didn't read Mike's.

You see, the specifics were not important (it's a great defense in a libel action).

It occurred to me this morning that a simple fact has escaped what passes for our dear Fec's logic. So I'm going to help him out a bit:

I've been in this blogosphere for over four years - and had a website up a year before that. I've accused Randolph Hospital executives of horrible things (not that anyone at the Courier Tribune or N&R has cared).

Yet in those five years, I've not been sued (again), the Medical Board hasn't carted me away in a rubber bus, and I've not been arrested for "cyber-stalking".

It's because I've been telling the truth. And the truth is very ugly. I know where the bodies are buried. And if I am ever attacked again - in the way that I was before - I will dig them up.

But before I did muster up the courage to pull my bruised & battered psyche out of Bob Morrison & Steve Eblin's cesspool, they and their rubber-stamp Board of Directors did do just about everything they could (over a period of YEARS) to destroy me/my life. Because they could.

Our Fec doesn't know what a real psychological blow-torch is.

I've not played the game by Fec's (or Ed's or Roch's) rules. I've not patted him on the head after one of his tantrums, laughed it off, and forgiven him after a lame apology - so he can go back and do it all over again the next time he gets a sick whim.

But you see, he's not two years old. It's not cute. It's not cool. And it's not funny.

Fec continues to spew his libel (he has not done the e-mail ugly to just me - as the facts will show) and I will be reporting what he's done to the police this morning.

Someone has to stop it. The deafening silence from his progressive pals in the Greensboro blogging community make it clear that it's going to take an "evil bitch" from Asheboro.

So be it.

The game is not a game and it IS on.

I hope his wife is very proud of him. I know she's permanently lost some customers this weekend.

It's Fec. Going for broke.

Hugh said...

Unintended consequences: LNB has removed all links to House calls, Fec, Spag and Garino.

Dr. Mary Johnson said...

Well, until recently, the link to Spag was dead (his old site). And as of yesterday, Joe's on break anyway.

Hugh, I absolutely do not blame the folks at LNB. I'd take us down too.

Greg Gabbard, for whatever reason, found inspiration from Fec . . . and from me . . . and started his own blog.

He set out to right a wrong. The odds were against him.

Yet he's done amazing things with LNB in a very short period of time . . . for all of the reasons I addressed in my first post (the one that ripped Fec's despicable post on Mike Baron to shreds).

What Greg has been able to accomplish puts John Robinson and Ed Cone and Lex Alexander and all of the rest of the original 2005 "citizen journalism" crowd to shame.

But speaking figuratively, LNB, like many "children" has outgrown and out shines its parents. And now that the parents are "divorcing" (and it's a really ugly divorce), the child just wants to have room and not take sides.

I totally get it, and I don't bear Greg or any of his fellows over in Lincolnton any ill will. And I wish them all the best as they clean that cesspool up over there.

OBTW, as an update, I called the GPD. The jurisdiciton of a cyber-crime is the home address of the person on the receiving end (makes sense - since you don't always know who is doing the sending). I was referred to the Asheboro Police Department - who then referred me to the Randolph County Sherrif's Department (which should be interesting).

The initial report has been filed.

While Dr. Mary is out busy being a doctor, this moron is still carrying on with post after post. And SHE'S the one with issues? hmmmm. Does this guy even work?

I love it when people brag about how they know magistrates and have lawyers on retainer. In my experience, those are always the ones "way out there"; the alcoholics, the gun-nuts, and nosey neighbors.

Unfortunately, Brandon, Dr. Mary has had to spend far too much time talking to law enforcement officers this morning/afternoon.

On a brighter note, there may be light at the end of this five-year-old tunnel . . .

Updates as they arise.

Hey, I'm a flying monkey, who'd have thought?

Dr. Mary Johnson said...

I hadn't seen that;)

The cops are on it now. I've stopped looking.

If you are indeed a flying monkey, then I have an exact replica of you in one of my bookcases - in the form of a Madame Alexander doll.

You're pretty - in a warped kind of way.

Do you think his wife will be surprised when two law enforcement departments converge on their house and pull the computer out of the wall?

Hugh said...

"I love it when people brag about how they know magistrates and have lawyers on retainer. In my experience, those are always the ones "way out there"; the alcoholics, the gun-nuts, and nosey neighbors."

My experience in that realm is such "friends" lose interest in the "friendship" as soon as the warrants are served. Everyone wants to cover their ass.

Dr. Mary Johnson said...

Indeed, Hugh. I've called several lawyers "friend" over the years. But my case isn't a traffic ticket (certainly the only thing Roch Smith Jr, is qualified to make judgements about), and none of them, for various reasons, have been able to do much in the way of help.

Real legal help takes money - or connections - I haven't had. I'm not a Cone.

Of course, there's a Cone in the blogosphere - a scion of the family - a journalist who was one of the main cheerleaders for all the N&R's "citizen journalism" hype back in 2005 (when I was lured in like a lamb to slaughter). And his name just happens to be on one of the "non-profit" hospitals involved in my case. But somehow neither Mr. Cone nor the newspaper he occasionally drops columns in could EVER lift a finger to look at what I had.

Cone's also offered deafening silence while all of this has been going on.

So I must assume that it's a-okay with him for this "character" to spit on "specifics" or facts and viciously pummel a man with terminal cancer . . . or to repeatedly defame the good names of physicians in the blogosphere.

The cyber-stalking apparently is just swell too.

Back to the lawyers and why I am here, the best post-swindle advice I ever got was from a lawyer in Winston Salem who told me that he could take my case and charge me hundreds of dollars for every hour he spent being my advocate. But I was the victim of a crime, and I would likely be better served (and not have to pay out a dime in legal fees) if I just raised hell and never gave up until someone did something.

I don't know that I've been all that better off in the blogosphere, but once the path is chosen, it's chosen. I don't turn back.

I was fairly blunt with the Medical Board this morning. In those communications I was advised here has been a promising development. It was billed to me as "good news", but I've been badly burned before and am withholding judgement until I see some action.

A huge part of my problem with Fec now is that he feels empowered and somehow justified by the State of North Carolina having done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in ELEVEN YEARS to take my back (after being fired for saving a baby's life) . . . or in SIX YEARS to prosecute two "non-profit" executives who, when dragged to answer for what they did in a North Carolina Courtroom, lied repeatedly under Oath (a felony with no statute of limitations) in order to perpetuate a fraud.

It's gross regulatory negligence, and if I did not have a case before this happened, I most certainly do now.

"you broke Ed Cone's heart"

It's a comment such as this from a wimp that reinforces what I've always suspected about Dr. Mary Johnson.....she's got balls...and brass ones.

Dr. Mary Johnson said...

Well, that was good for a chuckle with my morning coffee.

No, VFPFFTS, it's not so much that I have "brass balls" as I am sickandtired of the empty rhetoric and double standards of the "progressives" in the Greensboro blogosphere (for all that Fec want to paint himself as just another moderate/pro-choice Republican now).

I came to them for a good and noble reason FOUR YEARS AGO and I am not their punching bag. And (unlike the Ed Cones of this world) I'm not going to stand silently by while their infant-terrible punches on others.

Fec's done a lot of whining about being my "victim". But all I really did was play by his precious blogging rules.

He put up a malicious/mean-spirited post I did not like. I responded on his blog. He didn't like one of those responses (probably because I mentioned "the wife" - again, someone who I've done NOTHING but praise), and deleted it (as he's since been banning and moderating-out the comments of those who don't like what he's doing now).

Okay, fine. Game on.

And he just would not let up on poor Mike.

So I posted/up-linked (I think that's the word) on my own blog . . . the one I developed after getting the snot repeatedly beaten out of me as a mere commentator (these days we call it a "coning").

And even then, I pulled punches.

But he's the "victim".

Spare me. I'm not playing his sick game anymore.

And you can't say I didn't try that either.

*Note to the reader: After hitting the publish button, I elected to come in and clean up the language and clarify a point.

I'm just so sick of the domestic terrorist over at Vie de Malchance.

Since Mr. Stench is not man enough to post comments from anyone who doesn't fully agree with what he's done (even though he's admitted that everything he's done is flat out wrong, the emails, the attack on Baron), I'd like to clarify I have not "jumped ship".

I wanted to apologize for a comment I made at Housecalls regarding Jeff Martin's employment status, as it's none of my business.

Deleting comments and then mis-representing the comment, in his own words. This guy is becoming the republican he has always hated.

Best wishes Dr. J. I think I've embarassed myself enough by commenting on this whole thing.

Brandon, we're cool. Sorry you're embarrassed (try being on my end). But once again, it's a matter of considering the source.

I imagine more folks in our blogosphere would like to comment on what he's been doing to me (for going four days now), but are afraid of what he'd do to them.

I've been fairly busy practicing medicine this morning (the livelihood that Jeff Martin directly threatened in his e-mails - and still threatens with his posts), and have not gone to Vie de Malchance today.

Friends in Asheboro (some of whom are his wife's EX-"fat-girl"-customers) are keeping me updated - and sending me the things that I need to forward on to law enforcement.

And, if local law enforcement drags its feet (as it has been prone to do with everything from my case against Randolph Hospital to a murdered mailbox), then there are Federal statutes that apply.

As I told Fec on Friday night . . . after the first of the 27 e-mails . . . I'm not playing the head games.

He can "sit and spin".

Fec has threatened to let loose with my past comments on his blog. But once again, we're not talking about anyone's commentary on the blogs. Those converstations are often heated and emotional. We all jump in and we all play.

We're talking about someone typing someone else's home address into an e-mail header and communicating a threat - or series of threats - designed to terrorize and/or control that person's behavior (in this case, shut me up/down) . . . maliciously crafted to make recipient of the abuse "crack".

Mr. Martin has done this to more than one person - fairly recently. Two jurisdictions are now involved.

He "attacks", "apologizes" and is let off the hook because people feel sorry for him. He's "well known for it".

That's some serious pathology.

The posts Mr. Martin has put up since he realized that crossing that line was a crime (and I was logging them with my shaking hands as evidence instead of deleting them) are now an extension of the e-mails.

Let him dig his hole. My hands aren't shaking anymore.

And OBTW if Mr. Stench does have behind-the-scenes "supporters" in this latest episode of over-the-top behavior, then they are as fundamentally sick and warped as he is.

You take care, and thanks for commenting . . .

. . . since the bigger guns in our blogosphere (the onces with whom Fec has been in e-mail contact) aren't.

What is truly disturbing and embarrassing about living in Greensboro is that your blog and Baron's blog have been around for the last year that I know of (me being a noob and all), and they don't print a thing about your story or his, but they jump all over a blog war.

It says a lot about the integrity of the N&R staff.

I wonder if Jeff Martin refuted Mr. Baron's water usage chart in his interview.

If there has been a story in the News & Record, I'm unaware of it. And I have not been back to Fec's blog - or gotten any new e-mails from the friends following it.

In my book, the N&R has NO integrity.

The up-side of all this is that it's not 1998 and I'm not Jack Perdue (may he rest in peace).

Since you're a newbie, here's a good link on that sad/sorry story:
http://www.lewrockwell.com/yates/yates50.html

I responded to the N&R's request for an interview with an off-the-record e-mail (part of which I have now made on-the-record in an update) taking a pass.

I did not give an interview nor do I have plans to. You see, I think the facts . . . in Mr. Martin's e-mails and his posts on his blog . . . speak for themselves.

Meanwhile, Mr. Martin, I'm sure, will do a lot of talking . . . trying to make a very simple matter (i.e. he crossed a line from blogging to stalking) complicated.

I believe I made it clear that I was not interested in a "blog-war" in my first post.

I'm not exactly sure how long Mike's blog (DamScam) has been around, but Housecalls has been here since March 2005 - with the heavy-hitting beginning about a year later.

And you're right, Brandon, the Greensboro News & Record, as it bloviates about the virtues of "citizen journalism", has pretended we're not here.

In this era of healthcare "reform", a Pediatrician in public service getting fired for saving a baby's life (cleaning up a mess made by a Cone-owned doctor), then sued for telling the state & Federal governments she serve the truth, and then swindled by "non-profit" hospital executives who lied repeatedly under Oath in order to minimize the damages they paid out . . . is not "relevant" to John Robinson, Ed Cone & company.

OBTW, in the face of Mike's allegations against the City of Greensboro, I found this story very interesting: http://www.news-record.com/content/2009/11/14/article/are_the_deep_rivers_hydroelectric_plants_worth_rebuilding

I am aware of the Perdue story. I''d like to find a copy of Bledsoe's book.

Amazon.com, baby, Amazon.com.

In the alternative, I'm sure there are a number of still-seething Randolph County residents (all of us being a bunch of racist, back-woods dumbasses in the N&R's book) who could lend you a copy.

You're wise to stear clear of the N&R. IMO, they've become a tabloid newspaper.

From stench's blog:
"The detective says it’s all up to the Magistrate. This ain’t my first dance with law enforcement. They generally try to work out an agreement and I’ll agree to anything. But mark my word: whatever agreement is made, she will be unable to abide by it. When she breaks it, I’ll have her hide."

Not sure it would be a good idea to let yourself become entangled in any agreements. Let the locals do their job. If not, take it to the feds. I think his malice towards you is clearly demonstrable. If you don't like going to his site, see if you can have a friend archive everything relevant.

Dr. Mary Johnson said...

Rest assured, my family and friends have endured this with me - and are following closely. No one is very happy about the time it is taking to STOP it.

I am very disturbed by (1) the dragging of feet on a vicious cyber-assault that's been going now on for four-and-a-half days, and (2) the lack of communication between the involved jurisdictions (as someone else in the GSO blogosphere has also reported receiving threatening e-mails from Mr. Martin . . . and a detective has yet to come out).

It seems you have to be a city council member to get the police to MOVE.

If a Randolph County magistrate cannot find "probable cause" in Martin's 27 e-mails - and the multiple malicious blog posts that took their place, well, we definitely have a problem with law enforcement in Asheboro.

And it will not stand.

Blogging or Cyber-stalking? It is evident that The Sick One aka FEC, doesn't know the difference.
When one goes to the length to do what he claims he is doing in his own blog then he has crossed the line from blogging to stalking and it really doesn't make any difference what his excuse if for doing such. Here are the comments. You decide if it's blogging or stalking. Regardless the man is sick, very , very sick and needs some attention quickly.

"Were I more accomplished with MySQL commands I might have pulled her comments from my blog in a jiffy. As things stand, downloaded an XML backup of my blog which contains 400K lines. Then I wrote a program to build a file containing email, blog, ip, date and comments. To give Detective Trogdon something readable, I limited the comment to store 254 characters. He does have a life, after all.

[ What contempt The Sick One shows for the LEO while trying to disguise it as "concern".]

The program ran all night and is now at 150K. I programmed a bell to ring every time it finds one of her comments and every so often it
pings."

[ WOW, have you ever heard of a BLOGGER so anxious for a reply that they rig a bell to sound when a reply is received? No, and neither have I however in this case The Sick One is not looking for just any reply but one particular individual reply and that my friends is stalking, pure and simple.]

The Sick one a can call it what he wants but it sure ain't blogging folks , it is a sickness, a symptom of a larger problem called BPD.

Dr. Mary Johnson said...

The GPD, I think, is going to be a little harder to snow with Martin's "defense" . . . which appears to be blurring the distinction between blogging and stalking.

Mary,

I've really been gone a long time from following all of the blogs and started looking at this story after I read about it in the N&R and Yes! Weekly yesterday.

Can't believe I totally missed all of this and am so late to such a depressing party.

Martin did the same thing to me - 20 minute blast of a couple of dozen disturbing emails - about two years ago. (A couple of the worst disparaged my wife's physical appearance following cancer).

I just took the event as evidence that Martin is somehow very unbalanced and that I should just forevermore stay the hell away from him - both online and off. And I have.

I think I kept those emails in my archives. When I get time I will search and pull them up and offer them to you for whatever purpose you deem appropriate.

Dr. Mary Johnson said...

Thanks Hogg. I appreciate that.

If things pan out the way I expect them to, Martin will be getting served with another warrant in the Greensboro jurisdiction shortly.

Contrary to some of the assumptions/assertions Martin has publicly made, the person on that receiving end of those e-mails is still gathering evidence, and has yet (at least as of Tuesday night) to present it to a magistrate.
