Exhibit K: Nancy Toy's Letter To JCAHO (Subtitled: Just So We're Clear On Who's Lying)

The last post offered Dr. Laurie Anderson's letter to JCAHO . . . supporting the veracity of everything I said in "Shalala" in 1999 . . . and ripping Randolph Hospital VP, Steve Eblin, to shreds.

Dr. Nancy Toy wrote a letter of support as well.

In fact, after I filed my response to Randolph Hospital's despicable "libel" lawsuit . . . a response that more or less completely sunk the lawsuit before sailed, an apparently drunk Bob Morrison confronted Nancy about her letter. It happened at a Z00-To-Do that she and her family had returned to Asheboro to attend with friends.

The gist of the menacing encounter was how dare she support Mary Johnson?

Nancy was ready-to-deliver-pregnant at the time, and Bob had waited until her husband Carl was preoccupied with something else and briefly left her side. Nancy was shaken, but stood her ground. Friends intervened to separate them. Afterwards, her husband was furious.

So was I went I found out about it.

Here is Nancy's letter:

Dear Ms. Elb,

I am writing to you in support of Dr. Mary H. Johnson, M.D. I have read her letter to Donna Shalala and feel that it accurately portrays the events surrounding her separation from Randolph Medical Associates.

Dr. Johnson is an excellent Pediatrician and is scrupulously honest. I have never witnessed such a poorly and rudely handled situation as that which surrounded the termination of Dr. Johnson's employment. Dr. Johnson was given five (5) days to complete her work and leave the office. My son, one of her patients, was under her care and could not be seen for his follow-up appointment by Dr. Johnson.

My decision to move from Asheboro was influenced by many factors. The fact that the hospital-affiliated practice was willing to fire such an excellent, well-trained Pediatrician in such an unprofessional fashion was certainly one of them. If I can provide any other information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Nancy J. Toy, M.D.

What was that Jim Kinlaw called it?

"Normal turnover?"
