Andy Gregson's Moment In The Sun

You know, when someone in our local DA's office tries to catch the coat-tail of a falling news star, I wish they'd be completely forthcoming.

At the risk the Courier's link will be broken - or the story mysteriously disappear (which has happened before when I've referenced something on this blog), here's an excerpt from the text of the story (credited to staff):

A former Randolph County assistant district attorney is among six officers of the court charged with tampering with court documents in Johnston County to secure illegal dismissals for drunken drivers.

On Monday, a grand jury in Johnston County brought back indictments against Cindy Jaegar and five associates.

On March 25, Jaegar was dismissed from her job in Randolph County, according to Andy Gregson, Randolph County assistant district attorney.

Prior to working in Randolph County, Jaegar was a Johnston County prosecutor. Gregson confirmed that she was hired here to fill the position vacated by Rob Wilkins. Wilkins was elected to a District Court 19B judge seat in November 2008.

Gregson declined to comment about the circumstances surrounding Jaegar’s dismissal. However, he said her discharge was not related to her work performance in Randolph County.

A report in the Raleigh News & Observer said that all of those involved will face felony charges of obstructing justice, crimes that could land each in prison.

Of course, our dear ADA Andy (or his good buddy, King Dozier) doesn't know anything about obstructing justice.

I wonder when Garland Yates is going to pick up the phone and ask the North Carolina Attorney General to investigate and prosecute "non-profit" Randolph Hospital's misuse & abuse of public resources & public servants . . . most specifically, their senior executives' in-your-face/because-we-can/"right-people" perjury, contempt and fraud.
