The Courier features a story on the recent, annual Career & Education fair. Times are tough. People who want to work . . . to do for their community . . . can't.
I know the feeling.
It burns my butt that Bob Morrison and Steven Eblin of Randolph Hospital are in a position to make decisions about the livelihoods of good people whose boots they are not fit to wipe clean. Over the years, I've heard from good folks passed over for jobs at Randolph . . . because they were judged not to fit in with "the team" (translation: "arrogant & cliquish" mill-town sycophants and boot-lickers).
Of course, I would wear that as a badge of honor. It's a right honorable "team" that would have had me hang up on a nurse in the middle of the night, roll over and let a baby die.
Any wet-behind-the-ears MBA grad could do what this pair of unconvicted felons do for a whole lot less (go ahead - look them up) . . . be grateful for it . . . and probably do it much better by their employees (upon whom their actions reflect) and the community (maybe kids wouldn't have to stand in line at the Merce Clinic). And I'd just bet whoever filled their empty positions could do it without lying, cheating and stealing.
Fire these oily, lying sexist jerks "for cause". Unless I'm mistaken, bad faith, fraud, & criminal behavior means NO indemnity and NO phat parachute (in other words, by cleaning house, the hospital could save a lot of money).
Put them in this line. Give them a taste of their own medicine.

The problem with going to a job fair is much liking peeing in a dark blue suit...you get a brief warm feeling, but does anyone actually notice?
Best of luck to all those that attended, but based on my experiences from years past, they'd might want to not put too much stock in it.
As for the Disaster Twins, better to watch them have to learn how to sign up for ESC benefits. Bob, Steve, you file on either Monday or Tuesday, depending on the last digit in your TIN.
I've gone to a few - when I was home on break - just out of curiosity. I think your assessment is accurate.
Based on what I've seen on Guidestar, I think the "Disaster Twins" have enough socked away to retire without ever darkening the ESC's doorstep. Of course, it's likely they got as badly hit by the Dow's downslide as everyone else. One can only hope that Morrison's "la dolce vita" on Hilton Head or in Southport has been post-poned or torpedoed
I also suspect that the RH Board of Directors (blind rubber-stampers that they are) was not smart enough to check & balance their executive contracts in a fashion that prohibited pricey parachutes if the execs were fired for cause.
