First let me say that I wish my Uncle Reid had e-mail. And I think Pops (raised in Greensboro) would have gotten a big kick out of this one.
For years, I've been trying to get the attention of the city council . . . something that might generate public outrage and foster forward movement on my case against senior Randolph Hospital adminstrators for in-your-face perjury/contempt and fraud.
I plod on. There is no statute of limitations on perjury.
My blogging has actually been aimed at the well-named winkers and nodders running Asheboro . . . all of the "right people" who have, for years, pretended what happened at Randolph Hospital did not happen, and that I do not exist.
They are the kind of "neighbors" who throw up their hand in greeting (Bygones!) when I drive by, or expect me/my family to make polite small talk (Hi Doc!) at chance encounters.
In the meantime, the Greensboro City Council seems to have taken notice of Dr. Mary Johnson. It's a dubious achievement.
After the cold-blooded murder of a Brinks guard in broad daylight in front of Old Navy at Friendly Center on December 15th, I left a comment at Joe's:
It (the murder) was a defining moment. I feel so awful for that guard and his family.
"It is more than the crime. It is the" TOTAL "failure of the news media . . . the bowing to corruption" PERIOD. Our leaders and newspapermen literally have blood on their oh-so-politically-correct hands.
The powers-that-be in in Piedmont NC (not just Greensboro) sold us all out long ago. Since I started my blog in 2005, I've heard from so many people of like mind (a good many of them high-school or college classmates) - born and raised in the area - many who came home with great hope for the future - only to see those hopes dashed against someone else's selfishness and greed. We existed to pump up the egos and pocketbooks of others. Our lives and our troubles were not "relevant".
So many have asked me (1) Why did you bother to come home?, and (2) Why do you bother to fight now?
"It's a lost cause."
Many of them have left - or like Laura, are planning to leave.
What the hell does it take for people to WAKE UP?
As any moron could see, the comment was born of years of frustration and heart-felt outrage. But what I said apparently upset some of thin skins on the GSO city council. Councilman Zach Matheny actually said that my comments made his "bones cringe even more so than the act itself".
This was Joe's take:
Think about that. He (Matheny) was saying that he was more viscerally affected by Mary Johnson's statement than by the fact that an innocent man was shot in the head and killed.
Pause to cringe.
Here's my take: Zach Matheny is simply a sad/pathetic excuse for a "leader" (I use the term loosely) trying to divert attention from the GSO city government's beyond sorry record in maintaining law & order (how many lawsuits are we up to now in the David Wray debacle?). On December 15th, an innocent man paid with his life.
(7:30 AM Before-the coffee afterthought): And think about this (since it's all about me). Be it in Asheboro or Greensboro, the kind of "leadership" that gave (for going on eleven years) Randolph Hospital CEO, Bob Morrison, leave to do the kinds of things he did to me - including walking into a courtroom and negotiating a settlement on a pack of lies sworn under Oath, is the same kind of "leadership" that led a young black man to the apparently not-so-misguided notion that he could dress up like a clown, shoot a husband/father/son in broad daylight - at an upscale GSO shopping center no less, and get away with it.
That pesky morality is a slippery slope. It's just a matter of degree. But hey, my situation is "not relevant" to anything anywhere.
The truth hurts. I offer no apologies for what I said . . . a few weeks ago or now. I don't deny it. I wasn't misquoted. It appears to be more or less in context.
Joe's right. I am "the wrong Johnson". Damned proud of it too.
Guess I won't be getting any jobs at Cone Hospital;)
And someone should probably clue Matheny into the fact that he chose to use/target the comments of a blogger who does not actually live in Greensboro.
Smooth move.

Yo, you're the BIG JOHNSON !!!
Funny.
There was an animated discussion at the house right before Christmas about the "ball wars" going on in my neighborhood (again, a term to use loosely).
I was teased mercilessly because I did not have any dangling from my Magnolia.
One of the YaYas stopped it with a Yoda: "The biggest balls around, everyone knows Mary has . . . no need, there is, to hang anything from trees."
