The Questions I'd Like To See Fox 8 Ask Bev And Keith

While Fox 8 is interviewing former employees of Asheboro Elastics . . . or out-of-work folks in Asheboro who could've used one of those jobs that went to San Salvador . . . I thought their reporters might consider branching out a little more (along an economic theme . . . Keith Crisco's particular area of expertise).

From an e-mail to Fox 8 News (with afterthoughts):

Why don't you ask Keith what he thinks about two "non-profit" hospital administrators lying under Oath (in order to save some money when they settled the lawsuit they had to run from) - thus driving the nails on the coffin of the home-grown Pediatrician they drove out of town for saving a baby's life?

You could actually ask Bev about that too. Neither one of them (so concerned with ethics and transparency) can say that they don't know about it - or have called for an investigation.

The doctor got state and federal "incentives" (comparatively small compared to corporate incentives, I know - but incentives all the same) to come home and "clean up" Pediatrics at the local hospital.

Eleven years later - after she was run out of town, Asheboro is dying, any sane Pediatrician is steering clear of Asheboro, and the children of the people who work at Crisco's mills get to stand in line at the Merce Clinic for a Physician's Assistant.

THINK about it. THINK about how much time and effort and money goes into making just ONE physician . . . about how much expense and work and deft persuasion goes into recruiting them to rural areas and small towns. THINK about the medical/economic crisis we currently face - with increased Medicaid and Medicare roles - and physician shortages.

And when you're done THINKING about that, just LOOK at how Randolph Hospital treated a Pediatrician who came home (in spite of being surgically MAULED there as a child) - a doctor who did not blink when she was put in the position of choosing between her job and the LIFE of an INNOCENT.

And LOOK at how determinedly Keith and Bev and the whole "right people" crowd have looked the other way.

Then THINK about how much the businessmen who dismissed good Pediatricians as being "a dime a dozen", and committed these CRIMES are paying themselves.

It all makes PERFECT economic sense.

Now you would think that with all of the noble talk about ethics and transparency and "change", the NC and US Departments of Justice would be taking a serious look at hospitals/individuals who retaliate against physicians for doing their sworn duty . . . ESPECIALLY those who break the law doing it.

As opposed to blowing them off.

For that matter, you'd think the North Carolina Medical Board would give a damn . . . and not take too kindly to doctors being targeted for retaliation for trying to protect patients . . . for reporting medical badness (as their duty requires) . . . and for doing the jobs they are licensed to do.

More from the e-mail:

The doctor, who works out-of-town to make her living, was able to hang on to her house on the back side of Dave's Mountain (just barely), and now Keith & his buddies currently running the City Council want to annex the neighborhood . . . dynamiting solid rock/damaging foundations in order to give her a crappy sewer system . . . so they tax the daylights out of her.

(Let's not forget the doctor having to put up with the god-awful/substandard road that Keith's council-mate, Walker Moffitt built . . . the road that now NO ONE will fix.)

Keith is a part of that "vision" and leadership. And I have had enough.
