From CNN: A new survey says that half of the primary-care doctors in the US would rather find something else to do.
The AMA predicted the shortage of US primary care physicians to be 35,000 to 40,000 by 2025.
I have an idea! Let's ask Bob Morrison (who is still making major modifications to his house with all of that lovely money he "earned" as Randolph Hospital's CEO) or Steven Eblin (whose immortal words, "Good Pediatricians are a dime a dozen", still echo in my ears) what they think about that. I'm sure they're full of wonderful warm and fuzzy ideas about how to recruit good doctors to Asheboro - and retain them.
After all, they've got a great track record.
Hey JR, do you still think the story of what a local hospital did to one of its Pediatricians in public service isn't "relevant" to the state of our world?
Update: Kevin has a post up on the same subject. His is not quite so personal as mine;)

In Asheboro "Good Pediatricians are a dime a dozen", but hospital administrators are utterly worthless. You get what you pay for, or what you are led to pay for.
If hospital administrators are so worthless why are they paid so much?
