What IS it with all of the "open letters" to Obama?
If he's anything like those in his party who've been in Washington and Raleigh before him, you can write until your fingers bleed, but there's no point.
They do not read them . . . much less answer them . . . say, before they change a law. (Hi Governor Bev!, Hi Law & Order Roy!).
They couldn't* care less (4:36 pm: *typo corrected for Roch Smith, Jr. - local blog aggregator and "fact-checker" - explanations to be found in the thread of this post - and the preceding one).

"They could care less."
I guess that's better than they couldn't care less.
Blogger hiccuped yesteday - and messages needing to be approved got mixed up in my Inbox. This morning I have endeavored to adjust/edit my comments (which were jumbled between two threads) accordinging. I apologize.
This response to Roch's comment above was actually posted on another thread:
Roch, once again, when your "argument" is kicked to the curb, you revert to diversionary tactics like focusing on a typo.
[I suppose they could care less. But it would be very hard;)]
You are DETERMINED to take nothing instructive from the post - all you are interested in is "proving" your intellectual superiority (over a doctor) . . . and that is beyond sad . . . beyond pathetic. But I hope it was good for you.
This demonstrates the reason why I don't have a lot of hope that Democrats/"intellectuals" now in power are going to offer us anything really new or different. As Overlawyered/the links you did not read pointed out, they are already splitting hairs.
Typo, huh? Sure thing, Doc.
"Roch, once again, when your "argument" is kicked to the curb..."
What argument. I don't think I made an argument here, but it could be me who is delusional.
Heavy sigh. As I have endeavored to explain, Roch, perhaps inadequately, the comments that posted to my Inbox yesterday credited your first comment here to another post. I respond comment by comment (your's came in the same time as Joel's). And I responded to both of you on the other thread (now transposed here - with an explanation). This was before I realized that, when I hit "publish", the comment was actually credited to the correct post. I have no idea what was going on.
I initially was profoundly confused and originally thought I had lost the comment.
Ergo, the reference to the argument (on the other thread - you know, the one where you didn't bother to read the links on Overlawyered before you started flinging the monkey-poo).
Hardly "delusional" (one of these days, I hope you can drop the character and sanity slams). And once again, it's helpful to actually READ before you comment.
"Blogger" was hiccupping all day yesterday. In addition to the problem I described, it's been regularly dropping and/or losing comments. For instance, a comment I posted at Kevin MD's last night (on the "open letter" thread linked here) was apparently dropped after he approved it - then suddenly/inexplicably re-appeared this morning - before I could re-post (Kevin was gracious enough to send the comment back to me so I could try again).
I will make the observation again, that when you show up here - it's always and only about flinging an insult or dropping some snark. Your goal is ALWAYS to ridicule or put down - again, because I don't drink your particular brand of political Kool-Aid. Addressing the content (especially in any kind of supportive manner) is apparently an alien concept to you.
And unlike Bubba, I've decided it's so not worth my time. I'm not going to sink to your level - i.e. calling people names like "dickweed" or slurring their sanity & character. But I do have a "reject comment" button and I am not afraid to use it. Pull this kind of stunt again, and your poison won't go up.
And yes, it was a typo (a blogger working in a more "community-oriented" way would have dropped an e-mail to make me aware of the mistake - rather than throwing up an insult). As I have alluded before, I am still working on an old computer and through web-mail . . . as my new computer's adaptor failed and is on back-order - and there is no universal replacement. It makes blogging much slower and time-consuming - and very frustrating, and I am more prone to errors of spelling and syntax.
But hey, I hope hurling the slam against the doctor pumped up your ego.
"But hey, I hope hurling the slam against the doctor pumped up your ego."
He also gets pumped up by posting on Joe Guarino's blog using a clickable pseudonym that leads to a.....well, let's be generous and say it's an "unsavory site", something that reflects the very nature of his character.
Joe has since taken it down, in the interests of maintaining the blog's decency, which is undermined by the constant presence of the person who posted that link in question.
Yeah, following the thread, I got suckered into clicking it on. I'm glad Joe removed it.
