"When You're Running For President, You're Not Above Sucking Up!"

Late today, during a quick visit, Mama asked me if I watched Tyra today. She had a twinkle in her eye.

There's about as much chance of me catching America's Ex-Top Model playing pundit on the couch as me watching Oprah. A long time ago, I used to watch Oprah. Not now. Not sure what happened. I think it was Oprah over-load. Tyra's on the same road.

Anyway, John Edwards was on Tyra. Mama said the audience was young and predominantly female and primed for the "son-of-a-mill-worker" routine and empty hype that our former NC Senator has been spewing for years . . . including his self-serving tripe about expanding public service for school-loan-repayment programs (not caring at all to fix the ones we already have that are broken). As she spoke of the public service business she rolled her eyes.

But the soundbite in the video . . . the Senator's own words . . . was priceless and really said it all.

Play it again and again, Sam. Especially at the convention if Edwards really rides the dying, panting horse all the way there. I hear he fancies himself a "kingmaker" now.

Update: Overlawyered on the theory that Edwards might wind up as Obama's AG.
