Well, I gotta say. This puff piece in the Courier Tribune on the "happy return "home" of new Randolph County Assistant District Attorney, Erica Nunn, (who was actually born and raised in New Jersey) did not sit so well with the real home-grown doctor.
Sayeth the Courier: Let's welcome the lawyers back "home". But drum out the doctors. And keep them out.
This comment from Nunn was especially galling: “Folks in this office are like family. They are really good people, especially Mr. Yates (District Attorney Garland Yates) who is such a good soul."
I've heard from a number of people since I started blogging on my case. And I can tell you, ADA Nunn, that some of us (especially those of us not married to local business owners) don't have that point of view. Perhaps it is because of the way Yates' office has treated us.
I like to call it the "Reverse Nifong".
By the way, I did no go down the path outlined in the preceding link. I decided that it would only deflect from the actual perpetrators of white collar crime that so far have not merited Mr. Yates' prosecutorial scrutiny. As I draft this, I am pondering another path . . . one that has more potential to see Bob Morrison and Steven Elblin (and Randolph Hospital) held responsible for their lies.
Here's another good one from the new ADA: “People have the perception that prosecutors are against them, but we do have opportunities to turn lives around . . ."
Yes. Indeed. If you take them.
I hope ADA Nunn will have more on the ethical ball (oops, I said it again) than another one of Garland's minions. "Good souls" don't pull stunts like this.
Speaking of New Jersey, I am so sick of the Tony Soprano brand of justice practiced by this DA's office.
Money rules. Anything to keep your seat.
