Kevin MD reports that John Edwards thinks reducing medical malpractice lawsuits is "a good thing".
As I said in the comments (which Kevin published - points for him), it would be easier to swallow that if North Carolina's champion-of-the-ordinary man had not literally build his monster house in Orange County on the lawyer's cut of the millions he won in medical malpractice cases. Yes indeed, Mr Edwards should lead us in fixing the system that made him rich . . . now that it's in the rear-view mirror of his SUV.
John Edwards wanting to "reform" malpractice litigation is akin to the fat cats at the AMA saying they want to reign-in the nasty beast that the practice of medicine has become (on their watch). Just like Edwards, the retirements of these good-ole-white-coats-who-sit-in-their-ivory-towers-with-blinders-on are secure. Aow they know what's best for the younger generations whose future they sold out . . . mine being one of them.
Sometimes I think the oxygen is pretty thin at the top.
