. . . twenty-some times. Ouch.
Back from a trip to a car lot in Eastern NC that shall remain nameless (let's not talk about it), to find that the Enron Twins, Lay and Skilling, got their comeuppance today. The jury said the buck stopped with them.
Yeah baby. And duh.
Ed Cone has a good post up with more info/links on the verdict. I would love to hang around and opine, but I stopped at Barnes & Noble to pick up the new Dixie Chicks CD - as well as the Time Magazine with their picture on the cover (Advice for Miss Natalie - same as for Streisand: Girlfriend, just shut up and sing!!!). Bought the new JC (Johnny Cash) offering: "Personal File" too.
From a corporate ethics standpoint, the Enron verdict is way overdue but encouraging. Justice Department attorneys say they will "continue to "combat corruption wherever we find it".
Wherever you say? Is that bridge in Brooklyn still for sale?
The bonds are posted, let the appeals begin.
