Duke Strikes Out . . .

. . . for primary care.

It demonstrates (once again), just how low primary care providers fall on the medical totem pole these days. The young ones are getting smart and staying away.

If we truly "need every family-care doctor that is produced in the state", then maybe some of our institutions need to act like we do.

And, of course, my own experience in Asheboro speaks vividly as to how primary-care physicians are really regarded by hospitals - and how their services are taken for granted by the state (after all, there's always a new crop of fresh meat in July). Cogs in the wheel of profit. No more. No less.

You reap what you sow.
