Now, if North Carolina Attorney General/GovernorWannaBe Roy Cooper would grow a spine and do something . . . anything . . . about the unpunished plundering of Medicaid's "disproportionate share" program, this state might just be able to turn that "ethics" corner.
By the way, messenger Ralph Campbell, former NC State Auditor, did eventually get shot on that one. And NCDHHS Secretary Carmen Hooker-Odom has so far dodged the accountability bullet . . . friends & relatives & cronies in high places and all that.
North Carolina's healthcare road is littered with dead messengers.
